Common Types of Headaches:
In this section, you'll learn about a few of the most common types of headaches. Even though there are different types of headaches, they're all treated virtually the same. So, if you don’t know what kind of headache you experience, these resources will still provide you with useful tools to help manage your headache.

The three most common types of headaches include:

  • Migraine headache

  • Tension headache

  • Cluster headache

Migraine headache

Migraine is extremely common and is more common than tension or cluster headaches. Some indications of a migraine attack include:

 

  • One-sided pain, but can switch sides

  • Pounding sensation

  • Tiredness, not wanting to exert yourself

  • Feeling sick to your stomach or even vomiting

  • Light- or sound-sensitive

  • Dizziness

  • Associated neck pain
